12 Step Work

12-Step Work is when one alcoholic carries the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to a still-suffering alcoholic. This vital service can happen over the phone, online or in person.

The 12-Step Call List is a confidential listing of recovering A.A. members who’ve agreed to respond to individuals who call A.A. seeking help. To maintain their own sobriety, it’s essential for alcoholics in recovery to assist others to stop drinking.

When a caller indicates they want to quit drinking, the office volunteer consults the list and contacts a 12-Step Call Volunteer to ask if they’re available. The 12-Step Call Volunteer is given the prospect’s information and contacts them directly, then follows up with the initial Volunteer to confirm they reached the person.
